Amqui Station – Madison, TN
- Building history: After no longer in service, Madison’s train station served a stint as a Johnny Cash museum in Hendersonville, this historic structure was then returned home.
- Upon donation to Discover Madison, it was fully restored and expanded to serve as a museum and community center.
- Funding for the project encompassed a consortium of community block grants from MDHA, TDOT, the State of Tennessee, and the Memorial Foundation
- MHP worked closely with Discover Madison and community leaders to produce the required design and grant application documents.
- Architectural expansion includes a concert pavilion and restrooms, designed and detailed to blend seamlessly with the original structure.
- This Project received an Honorable Mention award from the Nashville Historic Commission.
