Nashville 901 Broadway Post Office

Nashville 901 Broadway Station

Following the 1987 relocation of the Postal Service's central downtown operations, Nashville's landmark Broadway Station had sustained a mere skeletal presence. When a strategic public/private development partnership was formed in 1998 to adapt the historic-register structure to house the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, a utility basement was converted into this premier Postal Service Retail Center.

Through skillful attention to detail, modern USPS technological systems are discretely integrated within a distinctive architectural environment which celebrates the rich Art Deco styling and materials of the original grand lobby above. Painted murals created by a local artisan depict scenes from 1934, the year the building was dedicated to service.

This project earned a Nashville Historical Commission commendation.
